The population of Monarch butterflies has declined an estimated 90% in the last several years. As with bird populations, herbicides, development and lack of food have all taken their toll. Army Veteran Debbie Pike, visitor services manager for three northern NM wildlife refuges, is involving students and community groups in efforts to restore habitat and track Monarchs in New Mexico. Come learn about these fascinating insects and what we can all do to help.
