New Art by Michael Godey

'Sounds, Signs, Sights, and Non-linear Time'

Eye on the Mountain Art Gallery

Opening and Artist Night Saturday, April 7th 5-9pm

LIVE Original Music by Michael Godey & Kathy Liden

'As I am more involved in music now, I see in music a timing that transcends linear time That form of time is the more real and fluid form, compared to the time restrictions of the clock. Time in an essence is a unit of change. The change closest to where one is going is the closest in non-linear time, which may not be so in the limitations of linear time. That's what my new series is all about.'

About the Artist:

Micheal lives along the Turquoise Tail in New Mexico just outside of Albuquerque to the south in a small town named Tejique. He is a versatile artist and musician. He brings his love of the natural world to all that he creates. Michael has an MFA in painting and drawing. The artist draws from life and visions draws with pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, but he primarily paints in oil and watercolor. He also holds many musical performances of his own original 'New Mexico' desert inspired Folk Songs at area taverns and local art events. Michael continues to be inspired by the rock art petroglyphs and cave paintings. He pays close attention to the images of the ancient animals created in the paleolithic era where the images were over-lapping to create a montage of life and motion. This life and motion is present through out all his work. His use of color also reflects the rhythms of the natural world; creating a full-sensory experience of his subject matter. His more recent work is inspired by non-linear time within music and quantum realities. He has a wonderful website that has more of his paintings and writings found online at:
