Shakespeare's most subversive comedy presented in Duke City Noir mode.

Shakespeare's most subversive comedy presented in Duke City Noir mode - a clash of personal freedom and political power.

The city - Albuquerque - is experiencing an 8-year crime wave and suffering  from a bus project boondoggle. The Duke decides to start enforcing the laws because politicians and populace have gotten completely out of hand, and puts Angelo in charge – with unexpected consequences.

A subversive comedy about wealth and corruption, religion and faith, and forgiveness and mercy. “Some rise by sin and some by virtue fall,” Escalus says in response to Angelo’s order to execute Claudio. When Claudio’s beautiful, deeply religious sister, pleads for his life, Angelo's response is an evil proposition.
