The upcoming group art exhibition titled 20° is organized by students attending Central New Mexico Community College and enrolled in the Spring 2018 Art Career Concerns Class taught by CNM Instructor Amie Rangel. The exhibition opens on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, and ends on Friday, April 27, 2018. The reception is scheduled for Friday, April 20, 2018, from 6 to 8 pm at 5G North Gallery. The 5G North Gallery is located at Factory on 5th, an art space that features several contemporary art gallery spaces and artist studios, at 1715 5th St NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
20°, curated by Amie Rangel, features unique and captivating art by Richard Barnes, Dani Barton, Celestine E. Chatto, Dominguez Tagle, Elizabeth S. Cabiness-Glen, Jaqueline Estrada, Josiah Garza, Kelly Gee, Madison E. Jensen, Siv Limary, Matthew Marquez, Joseph Mendoza, Jackie Montiel, J E Muniz, Johanna Nelson, Tenzin Nyinje, Heather O'Neil, Emily Schwarz, Dana Sharp, and S. Stearman. This group of twenty student artists, consisting of an assortment of diverse talents, is excited to present art in the forms of paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, and even a live shadow puppet show during the opening reception.
This class feels there is strength in diversity. Although the backgrounds, personalities, and specialties of the students differ vastly, they are all connected by their art class, college, and their own passion for art that is evident in their style and creative expression. This gallery opening will offer a unique experience to see twenty separate artistic expressions united. It will be a must see.
