Taught by nationally recognized flamenco dancer Alice Blumenfeld for anyone with at least one year of flamenco dance experience.
For anyone with at least 1 year of flamenco dance experience. The class will include both technique and repertory. Students will work on brazeo, footwork, marcaje, turns, posture, and more in the technique segment of class. Each week a short section of a baile will be taught, and dancers who come every week will learn a complete baile over the course of several months.

Alice Blumenfeld is a visiting professor of dance at Oberlin College and currently directs Abrepaso Flamenco. She holds an MFA in dance from Hollins University and a BA in Comparative Literature from New York University. She received a Fulbright Grant for research in flamenco choreography and is the first and only New Mexican to be named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. Since 2013 she has created six evening length performances, including a commissioned performance for the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage. In 2016, she formed the company Abrepaso as a platform for her limitless and relevant vision of flamenco to take shape. Blumenfeld has toured nationally and worked as a teaching artist with Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana since 2009. She has been a guest artist with a range of dance companies across the U.S., including; Nélida Tirado, Jácome Flamenco, EntreFlamenco, The American Bolero Dance Co., Grammy Award winner Hernán Romero, and many others.
