A presentation and workshop on the evolution of the gourd from a utilitarian craft to a respected art form. Also make a gourd birdhouse to take home.

Botanic Garden - Farmhouse at the Heritage Farm

Join the New Mexico Gourd Society to learn about the history, growing, use of gourds and gourd art. Over the past 40 years the use of gourds has evolved from a utilitarian or ceremonial craft to a respected and sought-after art form.  The presentation will be followed by a workshop, “Crafting a Gourd Birdhouse” for ages 10 years and older.
