More classes, more prize money, more HIPICO VIP lounge parties, more VENDORS and more ART. The horses get the day off on Mondays and Tuesdays, so stop by anytime between 8am until the late afternoon, Wednesday through Sunday to watch the competition! The Chorizo Wiener Dog Races take place every Saturday afternoon. The public may enter their Daschunds and/or mixed-breed dogs by noon the day of the race, with a $5 minimum donation to New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding. The Grand Prix will occur every Sunday to watch top riders and horses clear up to 5 foot obstacles, with the finale Grand Prix de Santa Fe held August 12th. Varying performances and demonstrations will occur each Sunday afternoon before the Grand Prix classes, such as singers from the Santa Fe Opera to perform the national anthem, Pojoaque Hoop Dancers, and a demonstration from the NMCTR. This is a great event for families and the community to enjoy. Watching the horses clear high obstacles is a thrilling spectacle for all and supports the local economy, which brings thousands of riders to Santa Fe each year.
