St. Brigid’s Brewbrewed with sincerity for charity, is a local New Mexican medium-bodied chocolate stout craft beer formulated by Abbey Brewing and distributed by Admiral Beverage to benefit Catholic Charities programs.

Catholic Charities is a local nonprofit organization providing a broad specturm of services to those in need throughout Bernalillo, Santa Fe, and Sandoval counties regardless of race, religion, country of origin, disabilities, age, gender or sexual orientation. The agency’s services include self-sufficiency and housing assistance, childcare and early childhood education, adult education (courses in high school equivalency, ESL, citizenship, and workforce development), immigration and citizenship legal services, refugee support, and senior transportation.

Abbey Brewing Company, on the grounds of and affiliated with the Benedictine Monastery of Christ in the Desert, continues the 1300-year tradition of monastic brewing and crafting fine beers that are made with “care and prayer®.” In 2003, as craft brewing began to grow in popularity, the Benedictine Monastery of Christ in the Desert on the Chama River in New Mexico became the first American monastery to start commercial brewing in the United States.Their first product—Monks’ Ale—was introduced in January 2005, and operations have been expanding ever since.
