The Weekly Alibi has been putting on community-wide events for a number of years with success, but this year's Hemp Fiesta is undoubtedly the most tremendous yet. In its second year, the fiesta comes into its own with more than 75 vendor booths and 8 sponsors, which include Weedmaps as the title sponsor and Four Peaks Brewing as the beer garden sponsor. There are more activities in 2018, more to learn, more to hear, see, taste and drink. Come out to Balloon Fiesta Park on Saturday, August 4 from noon to 9pm for a day full of cannabis-related adventures. There are documentaries showing, medical professional and political speakers, live music, food trucks, free bike valet, DIY tie-dye shirts, jumpies for the little ones and even a “dank” tank—with local favorite Lauren Poole. Purchase balls to try and dunk our favorite chola, with proceeds benefitting Paws and Stripes. Hemp Fiesta will spotlight one of New Mexico’s fastest growing industries with presentations from industry leaders, patient advocates and medical professionals, as well as exhibitors and vendors showcasing medical cannabis products and services.

Hemp Fiesta highlights include:
• A hemposium tent, feat. talks on a variety of medical cannabis issues
• A chillout tent, for focused hydration and taking a break from sensory stimulation
• An all-day soundtrack of live music by local bands
• A beer garden, aka the site of the fest’s hacky sack tournament
• An “Ask a Medical Cannabis Doctor” booth
• Face painting and mehndi artists
• A DIY tie-dye booth manned by an experienced helper
• A kid’s activity area feat. inflatable “jumpies”
• A schwag bag stuffed with exclusive products for first 500 attendees
• A munchie-demolishing selection of local food trucks
On Saturday, Aug. 4, Weekly Alibi cordially invites all of Albuquerque to Balloon Fiesta Park from noon to 9pm for our New Mexico Hemp Fiesta 2018, the state's premier annual medical cannabis event. Equal parts education, entertainment, networking and support of local creators of food, art and music, Hemp Fiesta melds summer fun with serious medicine and policy discussion in our popular local medical cannabis products & service-centered festival.
There is no cost to attend the festival, and all-day parking will be available for $5.
