Enjoy a weekend of live music, art, historic homes tours, libations and culinary delights.
The 4th Annual Carrizozo Arts Festival and Artist Studio Tour will be held August 18 and 19 at the crossroads of highways 54 and 380, near Ruidoso. The festival, held on Saturday only, features a horseshoe tournament, the No Scum Allowed Saloon Beer Garden, live music by local bands Paul Pino and the Tone Daddies and La Ultima, as well as out of town groups, the Saint Francis de Paula Folklorico Dancers, food trucks and an evening street dance.
The Artist Studio Tour, featuring 24 artists at 12 sites, all located in and around Carrizozo, will take place on both Saturday and Sunday August 18 and 19 from 11 am to 4 pm. Glass, pottery, paintings, woven copper, sculpture, tile, graphic novels, metal work, batik, yarn, steel and box art dreams will be on display and for sale in Lincoln County’s most diverse media art tour. There is even a vintage car and town art installation. An artists preview party will take place the evening of August 17 from 5 to 7 pm at the Tularosa Basin Gallery of Photography on 12th Street in Carrizozo.
Historical home tours—one walking, one by trolley--will also take place both days at set times. All events are free and open to the public.
