Author James McGrath Morris gives a lecture covering some of his fascinating works.

James McGrath Morrisis an author of biographies and narrative nonfiction. He is currently writing a biography of Tony Hillerman. His published works cover the likes of Ernest Hemingway, John Dos Passos John Pulitzer, Emma Goldman, and others.  His most recent book is The Ambulance Drivers: Hemingway, Dos Passos and a Friendship Made and Lost in War (DaCapo Press, 2017).  Morris has written extensively for newspapers and magazines.  Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Morris worked as a journalist and as a high school teacher.  He is the former president of Biographers International Organization, of which he was among the original founders.  Morris earned his master's degree from George Washington University.

This lecture is part of the Fall 2018 People and Places series organized by the University Libraries Center for Southwest Research & Special Collections. All events are free and open to the public. Lectures are scheduled each month featuring scholars from across the US.
