The New Mexico State Fair—a huge annual showcase of the Land of Enchantment's culture, art, food, music, agricultural produce and livestock—begins on Thursday, Sept. 6 and continues through Sunday, Sept. 16. Besides the usual suspects (BBQ turkey legs, fry bread, fresh pies and a midway faster and more fun than just about anything else in town) this year's state fair offers attendees the opportunity to check out the PRCA rodeo or State Fair Parade whilst also getting tips on healthy rural lifestyles, viewing vintage automobiles, appreciating the state's veterans and getting up close and personal with bunnies and chicks. A number of notable musical performances are in the offing to, including sets by Collective Soul, Dustin Lynch and EDM sensations, DNCE. There's obviously something for everyone at the fair, which is open daily from 10am until 9pm and Friday and Saturday from 10am until 10pm. General admission to the fair is $10; seniors 65+ and children aged 6 to 11 pay only $7 to get into the biggest show in the state. See ya there, cowpokes! (August March)
