See one-of-a-kind works, where the artist combines cut, fused and cast glass pieces, ceramics, wood and found objects into colorful mosaics and sculptures. Runs through 9/30.
Joy and detail are inherent to the mosaic process of Laura Robbins and are evident in her incomparable artwork. Her creations are one-of-a-kind, where she combines cut, fused and cast glass pieces, ceramics, wood and found objects such as old tools and rusty metal artifacts into colorful mosaics and sculptures. Robbins’ early love for art was inspired by her father’s appreciation of relief and textured art surfaces -- still influencing her work today.
Robbins is the featured artist at Wild Hearts Gallery with her exhibition, running from Sept.4 through Sept. 30. The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday; Sept.7 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Wild Hearts Gallery is located in Placitas, at the Homestead Village, 221-B State Highway 165, 2 ½ miles from I-25.
