The Whiskey Priest is Albuquerque-based songwriter Seth Woods. Seth got his start in Austin, TX in 2003, making music with his band Sad Accordions. Around the time they finished their first record, the band’s writing process became a more collaborative effort, with less of an emphasis on pre-existing individual songs. This much-needed and welcomed change for the band left Seth with a suitcase full of homeless tunes. Heartache plus unused songs and an identification with a specific character from classic twentieth century literature gave birth to The Whiskey Priest.
