The fifth star party of the season arrives. TAAS members bring scopes and knowledge of the the sky to guide the experience.
OAK FLAT PUBLIC STAR PARTY
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH - 6:00PM TIL LATE
OAK FLAT PICNIC GROUNDS - 9 MILES SOUTH OF TIJERAS ON #337
Our fifth and final star party of the Summer 2018 season will take place at Oak Flat, our dark-sky go-to locale for the public! This occasion will be full of planets, deep-sky objects and TAAS telescopes of all sizes and types for the viewing pleasure of guests and families. Please join us as we go into fall and hopefully beautiful weather for this event and for our future star parties!
Sunset will be at 7:09pm, but please arrive early to park and talk with the astronomers. Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and the Moon will be on hand.
Parking is at Yucca (restrooms) and Juniper, gates open at 6:00pm.
Bring a jacket for any evening chill, water, and your love of the night skies of New Mexico and join us as we "Observe-Educate-Have Fun".
