This open poetry reading series is to help promote local poets by providing them with a forum for sharing their poetry and showcasing their publications in a public space.

Tortuga Gallery Fall 2018 Open Reading Series Flyer

The Tortuga Gallery Fall 2018 Open Poetry Reading Series is being created to promote local poets by providing them with a forum for sharing their poetry and showcasing their publications in a public space. Once a month, poets will gather at the Tortuga Gallery to share their words. The readings will be held Wednesday evenings on the following dates: September 26, October 17, November 14, and December 19.  Sign-up for readings starts at 6:30 pm; readings start at 7:00 pm. There will be two sets with a fifteen-minute break. Readers have a maximum of 5 minutes to read. Before and after the readings, and during the break, poets are encouraged to connect, and share ideas and publications.A “Buy-Sell-Trade-Giveaway” Table will be set up for poets to leave their books, so if you want to show your books, please bring them to the readings. Refreshments will be provided, and donations will be taken to support Tortuga and help with other expenses.Hope to see you there!
