Kids ages 6 to 9 learn the difference between facts based on evidence and inferences for a better understanding of what they read, hear, view and write.
We are surrounded with more and more information every day. How do we know what to believe? It is critically important that students are able to differentiate fact from opinion, distinguish between essential and non-essential information, and make inferences from text. These skills are important for science and reading and can be reinforced in fun ways! By helping students learn the difference between facts, which are statements based on evidence, and inferences or opinions, statements that express judgments or ideas, they will be better able to evaluate what they read, hear, view and write. This after school event will be held outside on the porch, weather permitting. Registration is not required. Ideal for children ages 6 - 9 and their families.
