Keith Gessen presents his novel, A Terrible Country. Keith will also answer questions and sign books.

A wise, sensitive novel about Russia, exile, family, love, history and fate, A Terrible Country asks what you owe the place you were born, and what it owes you. With grace and humor, Keith Gessen's brilliant, mature novel surely marks him as one of the most talented novelists of his generation.

A Russian Jewish-born American novelist, journalist and literary translator, Keith Gessen emigrated to Boston at age six in 1981. He is an assistant professor of journalism at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
