Dance Theatre of Harlem
On Pointe

The barrier-breaking history of the Dance Theater of Harlem is well known among ballet fans, but don’t think for a moment that this company is resting on their reputation. Multi-ethnic and powerfully driven, they are a forceful presence in the dance world today, continuing to express through dance the experience of African-American culture. Fortunately for all of us here in New Mexico, they are bringing their contemporary choreography and 16-member traveling company to Popejoy Hall on the UNM campus this Wednesday, April 17 at 7:30pm for one show only. Tickets start at $25. Appropriate for all ages, this is a great opportunity to bring a young child who has never seen world-class ballet. For more information and tickets, see popejoypresents.com.
