Second Saturday Community CoffeeHouse on November 10th!

August James opens for Oscar Butler!

Edgewood, October 26, 2018 –After being on hiatus for several months, the Second Saturday Community CoffeeHouse is ready to rock and roll with 2 great performers in November!

First, new to the Second Saturday stage is August James, an Albuquerque songwriter, who delivers his songs with a voice that feels desperately honest and transparent, but with a sense of humor and stoicism which keeps the ends from unraveling. Then Oscar Butler, another Albuquerque Songwriter returns to the Second Saturday stage with a voice like warm chocolate, singing his fun and original songs.

Oscar Butler is an American performing-songwriter that is widely praised for his smooth as silk vocals and "pianistic" finger picking guitar style. A favorite at festivals and sought after for private and public events. Oscar is a prolific songwriter frequently challenging himself to turn out completely new songs on a weekly basis. Passionate about songwriting he can often be found sharing songwriting motivational tips with fellow musicians. His passion for songwriting is only equaled by his love for performing. Performing for Oscar is as comfortable as an old shoe and his ability to draw his audience in to share that state with him is a treat to see and be a part of.

Opening for Oscar is August James, a singer-songwriter based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. His style is reminiscent of the Laurel Canyon crowd in LA in the 70's, with inspiration coming from the music of Warren Zevon and Jackson Browne among others. He also brings a country sensibility to his songwriting, with stories that feel timeless in their exploration of the complexity of everyday life. He will be performing songs from his first album, entitled "These Days," as well as new songs from his as of yet untitled new album, which can be expected in late November.

The mission of the Second Saturday Community CoffeeHouse is to provide the East Mountains with quality musical experiences in a family-style, listening-room environment. The events, along with snacks and beverages, are family friendly and free to the public. The House opens at 6 pm and the performance starts promptly at 6:30.

Held the second Saturday of each month, the events consist of an Opening Act and a Headliner except for two Open Mics per year.  The CoffeeHouse hosts both professional and amateur musicians and performers of all ages.  The response has been so positive that the event is already booked well into 2019.The Second Saturday Community CoffeeHouse is always on the lookout for talented acts for both openers and headliners as well as offering opportunities for businesses and individuals to sponsor the events.
