Super 8 Movie Night in the Nuclear Living Room is about as cool a name for an event as you can imagine. Turns out it was the fine folks at local arts org Basement Films who imagined it. The event takes place on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 6 to 10pm, at Vitrine (214 Sixth Street SW). Basement Filmers Beth Hansen, Jenette Isaacson and Ren Adams are on hand slinging live projections of short, vintage Super 8 horror movies including The Mummy, Man Made Monster, The Wolfman and other terrifying haunts. The evening ends with a “special, multi-projector grand finale.” It all takes place inside the gallery’s “nuclear family living room” installation. Guests are advised to bring a pillow to sit on.
