Guest speaker Brenda Ballou Dabney will help you learn about African-American presence in New Mexico from 1870-1930. Oral histories, as told by descendants of early settlers, will be shared along with books, photographs and documents. This program made possible by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, The New Mexico Humanities Council and the generous support of The Amigos de Cerrillos Hills State Park.

Cerrillos Hills State Park Visitor Center - 37 Main Street, Cerrillos, NM. Approximately 16 miles south of Santa Fe and 3 miles north of Madrid via NM 14. Take County Road 57 west into Cerrillos village. Donations welcome. See link for a map
