Paranormal adventure author Jones and fantasy author Kennedy join forces to celebrate releases of new novels in their series.

Paranormal adventure author Darynda Jones and fantasy author Jeffe Kennedy join forces 4:00 pm Saturday, January 26, to celebrate releases of new novels in series at Page One Books.  Jones is promoting the final book in her Charley Davidson series, "Summoned to Thirteenth Grave," while Kennedy is promoting the third book in her "Dasnaria" fantasy series, "Warrior of the World: Chronicles of Dasnaria Book 3."

Jones' novel is described as such: "Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper extraordinaire, is pissed. She’s been kicked off the earthly plane for eternity―which is exactly the amount of time it takes to make a person stark raving mad. But someone’s looking out for her, and she’s allowed to return after a mere hundred years in exile. Is it too much to hope for that not much has changed? Apparently it is. Bummer. She’s missed her daughter. She’s missed Reyes. She’s missed Cookie and Garrett and Uncle Bob. Now that she’s back on earth, it’s time to put to rest burning questions that need answers. What happened to her mother? How did she really die? Who killed her? And are cupcakes or coffee the best medicine for a broken heart?"

Kennedy's "Warrior" is teased as such: "Just beyond the reach of the Twelve Kingdoms, avarice, violence, strategy, and revenge clash around a survivor who could upset the balance of power all across the map... Once Ivariel thought elephants were fairy tales to amuse children. But her ice-encased childhood in Dasnaria’s imperial seraglio was lacking in freedom and justice. With a new name and an assumed identity as a warrior priestess of Danu, the woman once called Princess Jenna is now a fraud and a fugitive. But as she learns the ways of the beasts and hones new uses for her dancer’s strength, she moves one day further from the memory of her brutal husband. Safe in hot, healing Nyambura, Ivariel holds a good man at arm’s length and trains for the day she’ll be hunted again. She knows it’s coming. She’s not truly safe, not when her mind clouds with killing rage at unpredictable moments."

Jones, a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, won a Golden Heart Award for best paranormal for her manuscript "First Grave On The Right." As a born storyteller, she grew up spinning tales of dashing damsels and heroes in distress for any unfortunate soul who happened by, annoying man and beast alike. Jones lives in Portales with her husband. They have two sons.

Kennedy is an award-winning author with a writing career that spans decades. Her most recent works include the fantasy trilogy "The Twelve Kingdoms." Book one, "The Mark of the Tala," received a starred Library Journal review and was nominated for the RT Book of the Year while the third book, "The Talon of the Hawk," won the RT Reviewers’ Choice Best Fantasy Romance of 2015. Recently, "The Pages of the Mind," the first of the Imperial Realms books, won a RITA Award for Best Paranormal Romance Book. She also has a story in "Seasons of Sorcery: A Fantasy Anthology." She lives in Santa Fe, with two Maine Coon cats, a border collie, plentiful free-range lizards and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. Jeffe can be found online every Sunday at the popular Word Whores blog.

Page One Books is located at 5850 Eubank Blvd NE, Suite B-41, in Albuquerque's Mountain Run Shopping Center (southeast corner of Eubank and Juan Tabo). The Jones and Kennedy event is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 294-2026 or visit
