Montage Music Society World Premiere of “Transforming Forest” is inspired by Andy Goldsworthy’s Presidio Installations. This concert is presented by the Music Montage Society in collaboration with SITE Santa Fe.
“Transforming Forest” is a new work by composer Nell Shaw Cohen. Featuring projections of the artwork, the program will also feature works inspired by artists Agnes Martin and Eric Fischl. Montage Music Society's primary focus is music inspired by visual art. The group has commissioned a number of new works by Andrew List (Gauguin), Bruce Wolosoff (Eric Fischl, April Gornik, Milton Resnick), Ofer Ben-Amots (Bebe Krimmer), Monica Demarco (Luis Jimenez).
Forging connections between art forms encourages active listening and observation and stimulates fresh, new insights into the musical and visual creative processes. Founded in Boston, Massachusetts, Montage Music Society has enjoyed collaborations with the Library of Congress, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Corcoran Gallery, Chautauqua Institution, North Carolina Museum of Art, Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art and its Roswell Artist in Residence Foundation.
