The artwork in 'Rhythm of Resiliency' encourages us to step out of our usual frame of reference into a visual contemplation of the pairing of despair and joy within the grieving process. This collection of prints reveals images from Carol's inner realm using rhythmic marks, archetypal imagery, and colors and shapes that engage us through our senses. Complex landscapes of ostomy bags, part of her brother's medical treatments, transform to a simple urn, a metaphorical container for her loving relationship that is about to end. Totems adorned with images of bones and floral embellishments turn upwards towards the heavens and eventually become mourning dresses embellished with elements that represent her outward expression of grief.
