Shivaratri-Shiva Shakti Puja Ceremony
The annual celebration of Shiva, universal consciousness, is observed. Bring fruit and flowers to offer.
This is the annual celebration of Shiva--Universal Consciousness, called Shiva Ratri, which is celebrated all night in India. Shiva is the personification of Divine Consciousness, a unitary concept. Therefore, the symbol is the yoni lingham, a joining of the male and female genitalia. In Tibetan Buddhism the same concept for the Kalachakra, the God and Goddess of Time, is a male and female image in conjugal embrace. Kala means time, and so does Kali/Kaali. (The current era, Kili Yuga, means dark yuga.)
The event will be a Shiva & Parvati Puja.
We will do the puja, then share prasad.
Please bring fruit and flowers to offer. Suggested donation $20.
