Danila Rumold: Dissolving Dichotomies

Rooted in the knowledge that the frequently separated roles of motherhood and artistic practice are co-creative forces, Rumold incorporates the unseen labor of domestic work into her art. Materials are subjected to household processes, such as being washed with clothes, exposed to the stove-top and placed on kitchen countertops, thus deconstructing the conventions of painting, crossing over into large-scale collages and installation.
