The New Mexico Film Office offers another behind-the-scenes career training this coming Saturday, April 6. This week’s training focuses on a film’s art department. The art department is responsible for creating all of the scenery that is seen on camera. Production designers, art directors, set designers, model makers, graphic designers and prop builders are just a few of the jobs that fall under the umbrella of the art department. Marisa Frantz will speak about the hierarchy of the art department, the design process and the specific skills involved. If you’re curious about a career in film and TV, this might be just the thing to kick-start your life in show biz. It all takes place from 10:30am to 1pm at the Special Collections Library (423 Central Ave. NE). This training/lecture is free; but due to the popularity of these events, you need to sign up in advance at eventbrite.com to guarantee a seat. For more info go to nmfilm.com/nmfo-events/#Trainings.
