They say you can't learn funny, but when comedy royalty like Kevin McDonald rolls through town, it would be dumb to not at least test the theory. Join “The Kids in the Hall” cofounder this Saturday, June 1, ar The Box Performance Space as he guides aspiring creators through his process at Sketch Writing with Kevin McDonald. Share your work and get notes from the master. McDonald employs some of the material produced in the workshop for sketch performances at a screening of Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy happening later in the evening. The workshop runs from 10am to 5:30pm, and tickets are $180. (Joshua Lee)

The legend teaches students the process to create new content with time for him to look at work, give notes and rewrite. Later, he takes some work from class for a live sketch comedy performance.
On Saturday, June 1st from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, Kevin McDonald will teach students the process he used in Kids in the Hall and other sketch shows to create new content. There will also be time for him to look at student work, giving notes and taking students through the process of rewriting. That night he will take the work from the class (Not every sketch created in the class will be used) and along with other actors, put on a sketch comedy show. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to write, create, and perform with Kevin McDonald.
All students will need a pen and a notebook.
This workshop has a cap of 30 participants.
