"ALL ABOUT THE ASTRONOMICAL LEAGUE"

Ron Kramer, President of the Astronomical League speaks about his organization:

"The Astronomical League is an organization of some 18,000 members, worldwide. The primary goals are the fostering of astronomical education, providing incentives for astronomical observation and research, and assisting communications among amateur astronomical societies. This presentation will discuss the benefits of being a member of the League and the plans for its future. Some of these plans include the growth to 20,000 members by 2020, diversification of the League and its member clubs, global expansion, and the obtaining of grants from commercial, personal and governmental agencies, which will enable the League to further reach its goals."

The ALCON (Astronomical League CONference) of 2020 is to be held in Albuquerque, and TAAS is hard at work on the logistics as the host member. (The ALCON 2019 is in Florida, Kennedy Space Center.) The hardworking TAAS Astronomical League coordinator is Becky Ramotowski.
