Welcome to the Body Positivity Expressive Art and Yoga Workshop! The purpose of this event is to increase your self-compassion in relation to your body as we participate in a brief teaching and guided meditation followed by a super fun, expressive art exercise.
Why you should participate:
Positive body image can protect your health and sense of well being.
Nurturing positive ways of inhabiting the body may aid in the prevention and treatment of eating disorders.
Positive body image is related to well-being across age, gender, and culture.
Persons high in self-compassion have lower levels of anxiety and body shame.
Persons high in self-compassion have less depression and negative eating attitudes.
Self-compassion may protect against clinical symptoms linked to self-objectification.
Most importantly: It is FUN! A cross between a yoga class and a paint night event, you will only regret not attending!
*Wear comfortatble, washable clothing and be prepared to take your shoes off at the door.
