Hear live and local jazz and soul.

Celebrating the release of his sophomore album, The Story Of- Part Two – a follow up of his debut release, The Story Of-Part One, which he presented to a sold-out audience at the Outpost in fall of 2016– guitarist and singer Claudio Tolousse is joined by two longtime musical collaborators, Colin Deuble on bass, and Paul Palmer III on drums. Tolousse’s music blends soul and jazz sounds with musical influences from his native Colombia and other South American cultures. As he describes it, his original music “celebrates life, love, loss, and changing our perspectives to recognize the greatness living within us all.” Ella Jane Fitzgerald was an American Jazz singer who was variously referred to as the “First Lady of Song,” the “Queen of Jazz,” and “Lady Ella.” She was noted for her purity of tone, phrasing, intonation and ‘horn-like’ improvisations. Joe Pass (Pasalaqua) was considered to be one of the greatest jazz guitarists of the 20th Century and his albums with Fitzgerald include Take Love Easy (1973); Fitzgerald And Pass Again (1976) and Easy Living (1986). Pass was a mentor of New Mexico’s own guitar maestro, Michael Anthony, who along with award winning NM vocalist Hillary Smith (hONEyhoUSe, Chillhouse, etc.) pays tribute to these two jazz icons.
