Join us for an extravagant evening of jazz music, featuring the legendary Albuquerque native, Bobby Shew! Bobby is an international trumpeter and won a Grammy for Jazz Album of the Year (1983 Heavy Company). By the time he was 13 he was playing at local dances with a number of bands and by 15 had put together his own group. His professional career began during his high school days, gigging six nights a week in a dinner club. He then spent three years as the jazz trumpet soloist in the famed NORAD multi-service band, followed by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra in which he performed with trumpet legend, Charlie Shavers.
