Lecture

This lecture will summarize the project, analysis, and findings (thus far) of the community-based excavation at the Jemez Historic Site's village of Giusewa. Ethan Orgega, the supervising archaeologist, will focus on the one-room dig that revealed intriguing aspects of the pueblo's history, hinting at the relationships between the Pueblo and Spanish people as well as suggestions of a traumatic fate for the village.
