New Zoo Review
One of the most awesome parts of living in the Burkes has to do with the totally fabulous and infinitely entertaining ABQ BioPark Zoo. While many of us have spent countless hours there amongst the apes and crocodiles, another facet of this great green park filled with wildlife is its marvelous summer concert schedule. That's right, that bandshell is meant as more than a last chance for salvation when the elephants and lions go berserk. It's also the place where, yearly, for millennia now, the vaunted Zoo Music series has happened. This year interested patrons listen to legendary golden age hip-hop agent provacateurs Arrested Development as they appear at the aforementioned spacial coordinates for an all-ages jam on Friday, June 14 at 7pm. Their positive, Afrocentric rap was deeply influential to West Coast, left-wing and alternative rappers and the outfit's sound is still very relevant today, with injustice and hope throughout the nation. Anyway, they jam like heck, too, so you oughta go, home slice; admission only runs between $6 and $12. Plus lions and elephants, bro!
