Sign up for an 8-session workshop in memoir writing inspired by the exhibition A Past Rediscovered: Highlights from the Palace of the Governors.

This workshop will utilize photos, objects, ephemera, documents and other works from the Palace of the Governors as inspiration for writing. Participants will learn how to put their stories and memories to paper using visual and other stimuli as well revise their writing with feedback from instructor and peers. The workshop will be taught with mapping, writing prompts and exercises, readings, visits to the exhibit, large group discussion, small group and pair work, constructive feedback workshops, and discussion.

Instructor
Valerie Martinez, history and literary arts director at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, is an award-winning poet whose work was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, a National Book Critics Circle Award and the Ron Ridenhour Prize (among other awards); her work has been widely published in journals, magazines and anthologies.
