Matron Records presents:Future Scars celebrate the release of their new album 'Harrow' at Rufina Taproom with friends Prism B tch + Jessie Deluxe on Friday, August 9th. 8pm Doors // All Ages // FREE FUTURE SCARS ///www.matronrecords.com/futurescarsFuture Scars embodies the coexistence of the calm and calamity of waking life. Founded in 2015 by members of As In We, Future Scars is emotionally rooted in the contemplative, melodic atmosphere of post-rock and expands beyond a singular genre’s expectations, often times overflowing into the domain of sheer intensity and fervor. The group couples these drastically varied, yet complementary components with the recurrent flurries of heart-wrenching vocals, creating an aura of earnest exhilaration and beauty. Laced with technicality and the prowess of control, Future Scars construct a sound balanced in adversity, soothing and cathartic yet all the while anxious with anticipation.Undergoing a line-up change in late 2017 in the midst of writing the group's debut full length and follow-up to their 2016 EP debut, Future Scars has grown into a foursome comprised of the group's original front-woman, Eliza Lutz, with Paul Wagner on bass, Marcus DiFilippo on drums and Dylan Blanchard on keys. Future Scars entered the recording studio in the summer of 2018 to record the group’s debut full length, Harrow. The 10 song record focuses on themes of trauma and compartmentalization and was written in two color themes, murky lilac and burnt orange. After gaining new drummer Dylan McDowell, Future Scars will release Harrow on August 9th, 2019. PRISM BITCH ///http://prismbitch.comPrism Bitch is a hard rock band that beamed down in 2016 from the dust and wind of New Mexico. The group started as a four piece and asexually reproduced an additional member in 2017, resulting in a 5 piece mix of heavy guitar/keyboard layers blended with pop hooks/melodies/harmonies and occasional total noise freakouts - often compared to The Pixies and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. From humble beginnings at a punk rock coffeehouse open mic to nominations in the Weekly Alibi’s "Best of Burque” music awards for 2017, 2018, and 2019 (Best New Band, Best Party Band, Best Stage Presence, Band Most Likely To Make It Big In Japan), Prism Bitch has been privileged to share stages with Treepeople, Shonen Knife, and Le Butcherettes. In September 2018, Prism Bitch completed a West Coast tour with Built to Spill, and will be touring again with the iconic band on the east coast September 12 to October 12, 2019. Prism Bitch released their self-titled EP November 2018 through Freakout Records. The EP features 5 new songs, recorded with engineer Toshi Kasai, known for his work with The Melvins, Big Business and Foo Fighters. Prism Bitch has a reputation for wild and performative shows, professionalism and friendship. Jessie Deluxe ///http://www.jessiedeluxe.comJessie Deluxe describes her sound as heavy, melodic rock. Her songwriting is dynamic and powerful featuring choruses that, “lift you high in the air and then smash you back down to the ground.” This is in your face rock n’ roll that conjures up the grittiness of P.J. Harvey and the sex appeal of Elvis, all the while adding her own unique edge. This fiery front woman packs an authoritative punch live with her amazing voice. As she shreds on her Flying V, she commands the audience with the conviction of a rock icon. Joining her on the stage is Diego Velazquez (Disaster Man) and Philip Maddux (Octaveleven, Frenetic Forces). As for her background, Jessie has garnered the attention of various producers such as David Rowntree (Blur), Dave Jerden ( Janes Addiction, Poe) and Geza X (Sonic Youth). Her influences range from, Hendrix, David Bowie, Annie Lennox, to NIN.
