Homelessness is a national and local crisis. The most serious health risk of homelessness is death. Violence on the streets is a dangerous reality. Addressing the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness requires population-based expertise and it also requires an end to homelessness. Even as HCH’s across the state are providing these services, the health risk of homelessness continues. For Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, housing is health care, and both are human rights.
AHCH will host two guided project tours to mark Health Care for the Homeless Day. In 2018, AHCH served 7,000 clients through our health center and an additional 10,000 clients on outreach. Here is your chance to visit our campus, learn from the providers, and experience the HCH Model of Care that have changed the lives of so many people who are experiencing homelessness in Albuquerque. For your convenience, register for one of the project tours scheduled at 10 a.m. or at 2 p.m. Free event.
