The pianist returns with a program of late works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Schubert, forming a powerful and thought-provoking experience.
International concert artist Gabriel Landstedt returns to New Mexico for two solo piano recitals this August. The first of these will take place on August 17th in Keller Hall's ambient, intimate space on the campus of UNM. The program consists of late works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Schubert, forming a powerful and thought-provoking experience. Admission by donation at the door; no need to reserve tickets in advance.
Landstedt grew up in New Mexico and received his bachelor’s degree in Music and German from the University of New Mexico. He returns this summer from performances in Canada and Austria, and he has also performed extensively in Germany, Italy, and the United States. He made his orchestral debut at the age of 16 with the New Mexico Philharmonic and has recorded Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Duke Symphonette. Landstedt has also studied at the University of Music Würzburg, the Manhattan School of Music, and the University of British Columbia, where he is currently based in Vancouver, Canada. The New Mexico landscape is a big inspiration for him, and he looks forward to performing again in the Land of Enchantment!
