International concert artist Gabriel Landstedt returns to New Mexico for two solo piano recitals this August. The second will take place on August 18th at St. John's Methodist Church in Santa Fe on their beautiful Baldwin concert grand piano. The program consists of late works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Schubert, forming a powerful and thought-provoking experience. Admission by donation at the door; no need to reserve tickets in advance.
Landstedt grew up in New Mexico and received his bachelor’s degree in Music and German from the University of New Mexico. He returns this summer from performances in Canada and Austria, and he has also performed extensively in Germany, Italy, and the United States. He made his orchestral debut at the age of 16 with the New Mexico Philharmonic and has recorded Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Duke Symphonette. Landstedt has also studied at the University of Music Würzburg, the Manhattan School of Music, and the University of British Columbia, where he is currently based in Vancouver, Canada. The New Mexico landscape is a big inspiration for him, and he looks forward to performing again in the Land of Enchantment!
