This presentation is designed to explore Logotherapy as a way to understand grieving and loss.

This presentation is designed for anyone wanting to explore Logotherapy as a way to understand grieving and loss. Humans experience multiple impactful losses that can impair one’s quality of life if unaddressed. One’s orientation to death, illness, change in social status or self-image can affect one’s life in multiple ways. Too often we are expected to “get over” these experiences but have few tools to do so. This presentation will provide a basic understanding of logotherapy and intervention strategies to support individuals working through grief and loss.   (6 CEUs) About the instructor: Theresa Jeffries LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker who is currently teaching and developing curriculum for the Human Services/Substance Abuse Counseling Program at Central New Mexico Community College. With experience as a licensed clinician and professor for more than twenty years before returning to New Mexico, she has worked in hospital social work, taught in correctional facilities, and directed supportive counseling programs for veterans, individuals with developmental disabilities, medically compromised groups (Cancer, HIV/AIDS), and senior citizens. Her passion for nurturing the resilience and hope of the human spirit is what brings her to Serna Solutions.  Theresa resides along the Rio Grande near Albuquerque with her boyfriend and two pups. She enjoys participating in cultural events, traveling, and being quiet. About the Bernalillo County Behavioral Health Initiative: The Training & Education grant, funded through the Bernalillo County Behavioral Health Initiative aims to increase access to quality training and support to individuals who serve and interact with our behavioral health community.
