On Friday, September 20, 2019, at 6:00 pm Through the Flower Art Space will host its second Flower Friday event Judy Chicago: The Birth Project Film Screening and Discussion. This evening will consist of a film screening of Judy Chicago: The Birth Project (TRT 20 minutes) and a discussion after the film with Birth Project needleworker Pat Rudy-Baese. She will talk about her experience working on the Birth Project and answer questions from the audience. Judy Chicago collaborated with more than 150 needleworkers during the Birth Project to create dozens of images combining painting and needlework that celebrate various aspects of the birth process; from the painful to the mythical. The Piece that Rudy-Baese worked on, Birth Tear/Tear, is currently on view at The Harwood Museum of Art in Taos, NM, as part of the exhibition Judy Chicago: The Birth Project From New Mexico Collections which runs through November 10, 2019.
