Flyer

Step up and become a citizen scientist by doing your part in helping study the migration and breeding patterns of Monarch butterflies in the Southwest. You can adopt a monarch butterfly, we'll show you how to tag it, and then you can release your butterfly.

Availability of butterflies for release is limited!

We encourage participants to preregister by adopting a monarch butterfly ($10) prior to the event. Preregistration is open from 8/31/19 to 9/21/19. We cannot guarantee availability of butterflies for release the day of the event if you are not preregistered.

We will be releasing butterflies together in groups at 9:30am, 10:30am, and 11:30am on September 28, 2019. Please select your preferred release time when you preregister and arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your release time to allow time to check in and tag your butterfly. If you do not preregister and show up the day of the event, we recommend arriving 1 hour prior to when you want to release your butterfly (Please note Jericho Nursery opens at 9:00am).
