This Is Captain America
You need a motorcycle—or a friend with a motorcycle and an extra helmet—to engage in the following activity, pilgrims, but it sure does sound like a lot of fun if you meet the prerequisites—which include spending the day in the saddle, hoss. That's right, the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience, in conjunction with Thunderbird Harley-Davidson, presents The Ride To Remember, an event that commemorates the 50th anniversary of landmark American road film Easy Rider with a motorcycle rally that follows the high road up to Taos where the film was made before swooping down to Billy's—I mean Dennis Hopper's—burial site in the lofty pines near the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The ride begins at 8am at Thunderbird Harley-Davidson on Saturday, Sept. 28, after a screening of the Hopper-directed classic the previous night. Single riders rumble up the road for $25 and a two-person outfit costs $35. Licensed riders and their passengers must be over 18 and sign a “hold harmless” waiver when registering.
