This versatile flutist on the scene today returns to play live with her jazz quartet.
Recognized as one of the most exciting and versatile flutists on the scene today, Ali Ryerson— last heard at Outpost with the Brazil Project— returns this time with her jazz quartet. Ryerson has toured the USA, Canada, South America, Europe, Japan and Africa, and performed at venues including the Monterey Jazz Festival, the JVC Festival Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She has performed with Dr. Billy Taylor, Kenny Barron, Hubert Laws, Mike Mainieri, Stephane Grappelli, Frank Wess, Red Rodney, Roy Haynes, Art Farmer, Joe Beck, and Julius Baker. She has released nearly two-dozen jazz albums, including numerous recordings on European labels, two with legendary record producer, Bob Thiele, and three with Concord Jazz. A founder of the National Flute Association Jazz Flute Big Band, Ryerson has also served as Jazz Chair and Low Flute Chair for the NFA and is consistently named in the Downbeat Magazine Jazz Poll. She will be joined by John Rangel, piano; Milo Jaramillo, bass; and John Trentacosta, drums.
