Santa Fe, NM—7 Arts Gallery, 125 Lincoln Avenue, Santa Fe, announces Santa Fe-based photographer, Thomas Dodge, as the gallery’s October Artist of the Month. Dodge’s exhibition, “Sojourn: A Life in Photography” kicks off with a reception, Friday, October 4, 5:00-7:00 p.m., and continues through October. Regular gallery hours: Daily, 10:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
“Sojourn” reflects on Dodge’s career in photography as a photojournalist for newspapers, magazines and corporations for the past 40 years. It also includes his most recent fine art work focusing on the light, color and landscape of America’s Southwest.
In addition to the Southwest work, the 7 Arts exhibition features Dodge’s photography from Haiti (1983 and 1984), as well as his long-term documentation of rural America.
“The sojourn of the photographic mind happens in a moment with, perhaps, a flash of light, an aura of color, a full moon, or the flicker of an eye,” says Dodge.
You may see more of Dodge’s work on his website, www.tdsouthwest.com. Dodge’s photography also is represented by Catenary Art Gallery, 616-1/2 Canyon Road, Santa Fe, NM.
