HopeWorks (1120 Second Street NW) has long been the go-to hub for most people experiencing homelessness, with an incredibly wide range of services to help get people back on their feet. On Thanksgiving Day, they’ll be doing their traditional large scale meals to help feed those without a table to sit at this year. Part of their tradition is to send those who eat with them on their way with a bag of cookies to go. So in that vein, they’re currently asking for donations of cookies in any capacity, storebought, homemade or otherwise, to help meet the need of all the people they anticipate serving that day. In order to make sure they have enough time to bag everything, they ask you to bring them in by Tuesday, Nov. 26. For any other questions, call them directly at 242-4399.
