New Year's Eve On the Moon
A New Year's Eve to Eclipse All Others

Maybe it’s just a phase but so many terrestrial New Year’s Eve events are full of lunatics and most events on the moon just have no atmosphere. This year, the tide may be turning now that the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science has risen to the occasion with an enormous floor map of the moon they borrowed from NASA. From 9am to 11am on New Year’s Eve, folks of all ages can walk the map, try their hand at the lunar scavenger hunt and other space-related activities at New Year’s Eve on the Moon. This event is included with museum admission and registration is not required, but you might want to get there early to find your spot on the moon map before it’s full. It goes without saying that while 2019 is waning, this event is out of this world. (Clarke Condé)

The Museum is one of only a few places in the country (and the only place in NM) to have this giant moon map on loan from NASA. We are the first to have it after its appearance on the National Mall in Washington D.C.....But we only have it for a limited time. Don't miss your opportunity to see it with your children.
