The final forum of the regional exhibition Species in Peril Along the Rio Grande is Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6pm at 516 ARTS (516 Central Ave. SW). Author and historian Bathsheba Demuth, along with biologist Joe Cook and conservationist Cristina Mormorunni, consider the larger context beyond the Rio Grande Valley of the climate change crisis in a public conversation moderated by exhibition co-curator Subhankar Banerjee, Chair of the UNM Art and Ecology Program. Jimmy Santiago Baca sets the mood with a reading of his “Buffalo Poem.” For more information on this free, all-ages event, see 516arts.org.
