Waitress
Happy Enough

Waitress is the Broadway musical version of an indelibly deep dish, darkly delightful American tale originally told by Adrienne Shelly, an American actor, director and screenwriter. Shelly died almost 15 years ago and this project is clearly one of her brightest legacies. The music for this version of the narrative was written by Grammy Award nominee Sara Bareilles, an accomplished singer-songwriter in her own right. Experience this memorable story of life and love in small town America when the touring show hits Popejoy Hall on the UNM campus as part of the esteemed venue's Popejoy Presents series, beginning on Thursday, Dec. 12 and Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:30pm and continues over the weekend with performances on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2pm and 8pm as well as on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 1pm and 6:30pm. Tickets for this sweetly sung story range in price from $48 to $93 and it's probably not something you want to take children to, not because of the subject matter, but because we couldn't sit through the Music Man until we were 17 years old. (August March)

Pouring her heart into her pies, she crafts desserts that mirror her topsy-turvy life such as “The Key (Lime) to Happiness Pie” and “Betrayed By My Eggs Pie.” When a baking contest in a nearby county —and a satisfying encounter with someone new —show Jenna a chance at a fresh start, she must find the courage to seize it.
